The First-Year Band is comprised of like-instrument classes that meet during the school day.  The goal in the first year of band is for students to get a solid foundation on their instrument so they are able to achieve their musical goals as they progress through middle school and high school band.  There are no regular after school rehearsals, with the exception of one after school rehearsal immediately prior to each performance. First-Year Band members will be required to participate in the Winter and Spring concerts, and the KISD Young Band Festival.
